Breakfast. The most important meal of the day! The breakfast scene in Hong Kong is finally getting competitive and that makes us really happy. Nothing beats a Saturday morning breaky with friends to start your weekend right, so here are my top picks for those looking for some egg-celent options!
Chicken on the Run – my new go to breakfast haunt post a quick twins walk. Did you know these guys are stocking blended smoothies? Grab and go goodness, made fresh in store, in perfectly blended proportions. That's a delicious breakfast right there.
Grassroots Pantry – Acai bowls are all the rage at the moment and these guys do a great one – Acai berry cacao bowl. It’s delicious. And 100% raw, vegan, gluten free and nut free!
Brew Bros – If the vegan fare isn’t for you, then you should try these guys. Located in Sheung Wan, you can’t go past their B.L.T bagel with wasabi mayo! With a side of coffee this is a well-rounded breakfast.
Deadend Cafe – This is my go to if I’m in need of a tasty baked good. They also have nice egg options too. Tucked up at the dead end of Po Hing Fong, it's a nice location where you feel out of the hustle and bustle of the city.
Classified – A trusty option for a good old fry up, Classified is my go to when I need a simple, easy but delicious breakfast. Plus they serve breakfast all day! My pick is always the Classified Breakfast, complete with sausage, bacon, eggs and tomato!
Oolaa – These guys have a great, varied menu. Their recent addition of Green Eggs & Ham is a winner in my eyes – Half an avocado filled with eggs and baked, served with crispy ham and tomatos – a dream combo.
But of course you can’t go past a home cooked breakfast, made fresh from your own kitchen. Grab some eggs, feta and spinach and make your own tasty omelet – just the way you like it! Or a smoothie. Check out our Instagram page for some smoothie inspiration!
Enjoy your weekend,
Jonny
